Also truth: The world is ending, we're all going to die, ohnoes!
Translation: big money glitches have happened before, and while it does screw up the economy for a bit, it eventually resets. So you wont be able to get rare minis or vabbian armor for a while. Big deal.

does noone care that theres about 20 people in gw who duplicate stacks of ectos, armbraces, zaishen keys, miniatures etc but sell it very carefully so no one gets wind of it ? its not fair to the rest of us that get z-keys and ectos fair and square...

either everyone should duplicate, or noone should....

me personally I'd love to dupe 20.000 z-keys to get zaishen rank 12...because that title is absolutely rdiciolous

My care is between non-existent and zero. I'm pretty sure the time before this last duping was much worse and guess what? We all lived through it and are still playing the game today.

Hats off to Anet for fixing the last dupe as quick as they did, it could have turned out much worse. And from the reply they gave you it appears they were already working on the problem before you even sent them the message so I don't see how they "don't care" at all.

Support honestly can't be bothered with issuing bans right now apparently. The same user OP posted about runs bots all the time and said they have been reported plenty but nothing ever happens to the accounts.

What do you think? ANet is not even sparing the manpower to update the weekly event notice at this point in time!

It seems that getting GW2 out the door asap is their number one priority right now and it is taking up almost all their resources. Hackers are smart, they know when to strike.

Give the anet staff a break - do you think they can magically find out whats been doing what , do they get instant results ?
Oh yes they could charge in , ban ppl and then what ?
They wont know how the exploit was done and that means being unable to stop it happening again.
As soon as they know the where and hows then they can do the fixing and do the banning ( cry havoc and let slip the dhuum ).

Personnaly, i'm not caring that much, but i do because they did care to remove hero battles and team arenas in the past..
I'm pretty sure many others do care about it because of other problems that happened( not same reasons as mine of course..)

Unfortunattely you're right... this whole duping/7th year abomination b-day presents thing is a futile attempt from Anet/NCsoft to make their most dedicated fans let go of GW1 and force them into purchasing their failed GW2. This of course will -not- happen and it -will- backfire. NCsoft really, truly sucks at marketing/community relations is all I'm gonna say lol... I mean seriously what idiot would EVER do the same mistake twice and invest so much time and effort into acquiring rare items just so the next day someone will hack their account because NCsoft had a security breach or dupe rare items roaming around for weeks/months unpunished or wait how about just hand out those items to just about every lazyass brat out there that ever played the game and have a nice communist i-community! YAY Added to this NCsoft has THE worst support I've ever encountered in an on-line game. They don't give a damn about their customers, they're usually totally unprofessional and 95% of the time give you an auto-reply...
Not only that but GW1 actually got better graphics than GW2 except for skill animations+ a better gameplay in general... All I know is I'll never ever purchase another NCsoft product ever again after all this shit that's been going on!

How can anyone follow that logic?
"ArenaNet "destroys" the game in order for people to buy GW2!!!"

If ArenaNet knowingly destroyed the game, do you really think people would go and buy GW2? Seriously?

I can expain parts of how you can think that destroying one game will make people buy another game. People got used to play a game, but that game becomes unplayable (cause it's full with bots, it's unbalanced, noone updates the weekend events, one class can barely play 2-3 decent builds using his own skills and similar) so those people will look for another game (maybe it's gw2). Also maybe they don't want to keep the servers running and if they don't have players anymore there is no reason to keep the servers running.

Well, if I knew a company was knowingly destroying their game as sure as hell wouldn't buy another game from them.

Unfortunattely we've already found one bro... it's NCsoft/Anet Such a shame some of us wasted 7 years being their loyal customers

And yet you are still here whining. If ArenaNet sucks so bad, why are you still here?

I have played for over 6 years and I will keep playing as long as the servers are up, and I have already bought GW2 and will play that aswell

I would like to point out that the people at arenanet are people. There is absolutely no way that they could respond to every problem in a seven year old game (a remarkably long time for a mmorpg) when they currently have larger problems (server stability, bug fixes, the last 2 races) to work out in their next.

In addition, I have no idea how Arenanet gets money. They get it from sales and in-game purchases, but 7 years into a game, these have to have slowed down considerably. So, why waste time and resources on a money drain when they have their next big game literally months away from rolling down the hatch?

Now, I certainly do look forward to their duping fixes and am hoping for a solution to the botting problem, but, in my opinion, those can wait. I'm sorry if all your stockpiled ectos lost their worth in the past few weeks, but, newsflash. They have no real worth in life. The only worth any game has is for diversion. If you can't have fun then don't complain on a site where people still enjoy the game. Just stop playing. Thank you.

I am waiting for someone to take every great Guild Wars concept, both flaw and perfection and recreating it into a game void of all the pitfalls ANet managed to conjure up that killed it.

I'll be honest, if I had quite a ton of money to toss around I would throw it at this game for prize money and GWWC's just because I do love this game to that extent.

*sigh*

Just because you demand immediate fixes and personalized responses, and don't get them doesn't mean that anet doesn't care, nor does that imply they are doing nothing to fix the duping issue. during and after the last duping scandal we got little to no information from anet, and I don't expect this time to be any different. Perhaps you should try and be patient, instead of adding more doom and gloom to the situation.

Because how well they maintain their current (and only released) game will reflect on how well they will maintain GW2.

It also reflects on how much they deem current customer loyalty/relationship to be versus, how greedy they are for upcoming GW2 income.

It is not that ANet is purposefully trying to destroy GW1, it is just that GW1 stuff has been deprioritized into oblivion in the light of GW2 release.
